Background
The Competition is organised by the National Games Coordination Office (Hong Kong) and the Hong Kong Institute of Architects.
The Competition invites Full Members of HKIA, either individually or as team leaders, to submit innovative design ideas for the architectural installations for the 15th National Games (NG), the 12th National Games for Persons with Disabilities (NGD) and the 9th National Special Olympic Games (NSOG), collectively as the “Games”. The Games will be co-hosted by Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao in 2025.
Objectives
This single-stage design competition aims to gather creative concepts for two sets of architectural installations to commemorate the significant events and to embody the spirit of the Games. The winning designs, as high-quality icons, are to reflect values of sportsmanship and fairness, collaboration and unity, respect and inclusiveness, as well as promotion of healthy living. Exceptional designs are expected to create societal values, enhance cohesion, elevate Hong Kong's image and drive economic benefits. The designs should also champion technological innovation and sustainability, inspiring youth and future generations to pursue their dreams and strive for excellence.
The competition provides a platform for local talents in architecture and design to showcase their skills and gain valuable experience. The winning designs are expected to be constructed by early October 2025.

The competition is open to Full Members of the Hong Kong Institute of Architects. Submissions shall be made in the participant’s own capacity or in group entry with the team leader a Full Member of HKIA.
